General YPN >> YPN's bot.
Posted by nonama on 15:37:00 02-13-2002
i built a nice ypn. now its for projects only. it allows users to create project. anyone can add an offer/note for project. also anyone can read those ideas/offers/notes. only admins of projects can delete them.
help is accessed through .help in chan or private. it says nothing in chan, only notices for user. not harmull, not anoying.

Be more precise please. What kind of projects do you mean?
Posted by nonama on 17:36:00 02-13-2002
When you create a project bot makes it inside himself like a thread for discusion. you can add offers for project then. its good cuz you can add project tell about it and after few weeks make changes about offered things.

what about using the messageboard for that?
Posted by KaGez on 13:09:00 02-14-2002
I though the same thing svara thought :/
I think there is _really_ no need for a bot, unless it's as smart as apt in #debian, or XachBot and Burrito on irc.gnome.org .

message board you say? ok. so where could i tell what i think about AI project? in which forum? in which thread? huh?
Posted by KaGez on 14:24:00 02-14-2002
did you ever notice the "forum called "projects"? and when Peter finishes his projects section your bot's task will just die away and get a nothing.

"when Peter finishes ". and dont you forget that.....

ok, but then you coded it for almost nothing. I think (hope) that Peter will have the projects seciont done pretty soon

Hehe, yeah, it's on its way, have no fear, and it's damn cool ...
Posted by nonama on 19:16:00 02-15-2002
im sure he has long way to go.....

Posted by fsvara on 21:31:00 02-15-2002
nonama: obviously, as your bot has projects support, too
Posted by KaGez on 07:07:00 02-16-2002
nonama: ok, I never said I don't _want_ that bot, but I think it isn't really necessary when we have a projects section on the web page. OK, atm we don't have one, but does your bot already support projects atm?

it would be cool if the bot and the projects section online could interact somehow like, changes made on the bot are comitted to the website, too

Wouldn't even be too hard to do imho...

shoud be easy to code, but for that we'd have to get a better host first, with more bandwidth

actually, a higher bandwith quota at 34sp is relatively cheap - however, i can understand that fabs doesnt like paying it all himself... but sharing the costs would be pretty complicated...

ok, I know I've asked this quite often, but why don't we just move to SF then? I really don't see a argument that speaks against it ...

cmon guys. moving comunity to comunity .....

it kind a ehm...

sf offers their forums, users, and other stuff. but in other though its a good idea.

about that irchttp its nice thing id like to do it. it would be usefull. if you add very alike thing to page like it is in bot..

or just rebuilding bot acording to the site.
