General YPN >> YPN wiki

I was wondering how many of you would be interested in a YPN wiki? Might as well add it in while I'm doing the rest anyways [addsig]

I dunt like wikis, primarily because they create many problems such as when people "pitch in", the content they write seems to get altered to the next persons views. Aside from that they seem to work rather well. Perhaps a wiki-like system in which users can write content and then it is screened for such things as correctness of information before being posted; similer to what TPU had. [addsig]

I am stil against a Wiki unless somebody convinces me of it's usefullnes. I don't really see the advantages of it compared to BBSs. In BBSs people are able to correct each other too and they are even able to (almost) interactively discuss these things and it's even easy to moderate and administrate. (For more of my arguments, looks for the old thread, which was posted by geqo, discussing absolutely the same theme).
This does't mean I'm not willing to have one for the YPN. If somebody gives some reasonable arguments for having one, why not?

Well, a while back some people seemed interested, so I figured I'd ask. Personally, I don't think it's anything special either [addsig]

All of those people have since left YPN for hprog after no one implemented the idea for YPN for months after it was proposed.

I think hprog isn't particularly useful, except for the IRC channel. But IRC channels aren't exactly hard to make, and I don't like them particularly. You don't have enough time to think, and it's a hastle to post source code. Even now, this is better implimented.

Use the HProg wiki - Let this place be for communication and HProg be for wiki-ing

Who left YPN for Hprog?

I seem to remember a few people leaving TPU for YPN or something else since Hprog came abroad.

What kind of name is that anyways? It isn't even catchy. It sounds like a robot.

Why would YPN turn into a wiki? Then, it would serve the exact same purpose as HProg. There would be no point.

I never meant to turn the entire site into a Wiki, but have a Wiki on the side [addsig]

stop arguing about if Hprog or YPN is better and that kind of stuff. I like it when you support the YPN, but I don't like it if you argue about if it is better or not. Just support it by being active

that's it, no anonymous postings anymore. you guys have been wanred many many many times, and if you are simply too frightened to use your real nick, then don;t even post such senceless phrases.
Anonymous posting is hereby disabled for the whole YPN message board. If somebody has anything against it and has a idea who this anonymous above could have been, please redirect all complaints to him and not to any of the admins. Thank you.
