Simply put formatting in the middle of the word, and then close the tag, and there will be no effects (I hate seeing "bottomembly" in people's posts ) See: assembly.

"Ass" is not a bad word. It means a donkey. Only when used inapropriately is it considered a swear word... And that's another bug in this forum, putting a word in quotes makes it immune to censorization...
