I figured out the basics of Wine, but I wonder, where do I put the Windows dlls (i.e. mfc42.dll, etc.) Thanks

"red red wine, it makes me feel so fine"
Hmm, I always wanted to try WinE but haven't yet. What speed CPU are you using? Will wine work on a 233MHz??
So, wine uses DLLS?? Is it kinda like open srouce windows for linux?? GNW-- GNW Not Windows...hhmmm

Basically it acts as a Windows layer for Linux. It uses all the normal dlls, I got something saying it couldn't find mfc42 and others. I'm running on a 166Mhz and it's not too bad (takes forever to fix up the font metrics) but it isn't too bad.

Wine is sure a big bloat for low-speed computers to tackle but once the app your want to run is loaded, the Wine website says that applications should run at nearly native speed.
I have yet to verify the veracity of that statement but I found that small apps run with Wine were very usable. Note that I didn't run any BIG apps.

I think they're right. Once I got the programs I tested running (what I could test) they ran pretty smooth.
