IbYdI wanted me to write down some kind of a blueprint for where the YPN should be headed next.
I did so with more or less care (blame school) and here it is: http://www.ypr.34sp.com/next.txt sorry for the (lack of) row breaks. I can't fit everyone's text editor. windowsers, open it in Wordpad.
sorry if the text lollipops, but I do need some sleep, some orange juice and some hugs... I'll be fine, a week's vacation is coming up so you can expect me to put a lot of work into this... have a good day everyone.

A wall may take a bit more than 10 hours to respond, please don't get angry
I'm not involved in the development of Sasq2, what I found most interesting in this document was the section about the "teams" we're planning to set up.
You are saying that the first priority is beginners tutorials, and then comes more advanced topics. When it comes to assembly, I fully agree with this, tons of people come and asks for beginners tutorials (also in other channels, so writing a good beginner's tutorial for the YPN could give us more people).
But I'm not so sure we need any more C/C++ tutorials for newbies, with a hello world program explained in detail. What we need there is tips & tricks, advanced features etc. Most people here (even beginners), can write simple programs, but get stuck when it comes to a bit more advanced coding.
Another suggestion I have for Sasq2 is the possibility to submit something to more than one category (without of course posting it twice).

It's not readable in NS either. Why not just rename it to .html and put around it?

good idea
I'll try that

Ok, I just threw it up like that, it's not supposed to be readable in the browser, but save it and then.. but I'll think about it next time.
Robert: Yeah, very true, there are certain variations. The best would be if we could get docs up on all kinds of levels, to have a broad variation. But we need to start somewhere, I guess.

I've made it a bit more readable and removed the "search engine" point, cuz it's done and put it up on my server. Also made a news on the front page so everybody sees it

from peter's text:
"Things like listing user's document in his/her profile, enabling people to see what documents are theirs and not, etc. Shouldn't be very time-consuming to do, but would improve the usability of the system. If there's a need for a complete list, I'll assemble one. Until then, read svara's todo and the messagebaord. Also, I'll try making the tables in the sections look better."
Hey, what's the matter with my TODO (or rather: RFC)? Why can't we use that to list UI/interface/whatever stuff that people think should be done?
Posted by KaGez on 12:01:00 02-08-2002
svara: I think you's still isn't dead ... I think the diff between peter's and your's file is that peter's file is a list of things we will do with a _very_ high percentage. you file should be good for recommendations from the ppls
that's what I think those 2 files are... if not, plz correct me.

svara: sorry, dunno why I wrote it that way, of course we can use yours.

Peter: I think you wrote it like that because IbYdI wanted it don't ask me why he wanted it tho :/

my another suggestion is to combine both lists
Posted by KaGez on 16:41:00 02-08-2002
no, I think it's good to have 2 lists. 1 with thigs we will definitely do, and one with this that users requested. i think that's fine

KaGez: svara wasn't referring to the existence of my todo, but to what I wrote in it:
"If there's a need for a complete list, I'll assemble one. Until then, read svara's todo and the messagebaord. Also, I'll try making the tables in the sections look better."
whereas that doesn't make sense, as svara's todo does well enough for that purpose.
