yay...
without originality? how'd you mean?
i'm grateful nobody said britney spears (seb didn't see this topic? or DID he say britney spears), cuz THAT'S what i call without originality...

I find it pretty funny that peeps on this board seem to enjoy like 'freaky, harder' music..

that rules =)
Posted by robost86 on 10:10:00 06-12-2001
Hehe, I see it scary that people like freaky music like Marylin Manson and Eminem... I prefer good music before strange music .

Hmmm... Seb like Britney Spears? Or is it just svara who doesn't like Seb? . Does anyone like Backstreet Boys here?

Nobody?

So freaky music is not good music? You better watch your mouth because I've just about had it.
And what's the relation between eminem and Marylin Manson? Eminem is just like Britney Spears, he just has a different image. He's not the cute little girl, his image is being an asshole but still, he's a poster-boy just like nick carter.

did you argue about "freaky music" on IRC or am i missing something?

Yeh, Seb loves Britney Spears.
Posted by fabs on 14:13:00 06-13-2001
No, I was just in a very fragile condition yesterday and I was pretty angry already. Sorry about that, robert But still, your comment about "good music" wasn't a very good one.
fabs
Posted by Peter on 14:17:00 06-14-2001
hehe.. I don't know any good/bad music. although I do dislike both Marilyn and Eminem. (Eminem is Britney with a dick).

I like music with some kind of freedom to it, you know what I mean? Rather no stereotypes... I also like music with a serious tone - not excluding funny stuff of course. What I mean is, people who can make music about life is good for me.

I like the indie idea... Fugazi is a great great band, totally indie. Iain, the singer, is quite a bitter man and I would like some positiveness but that paaainful, angry sound does also bring a chill up my spine..

like I said, I like all sorts of music... I've been criticized for my interest in folk music, but I like much of that too. Mainstream lollipops. Hate music lollipops. Now if you ask me...

ps. As far as I know, Seb likes Briney herself, not her music... or am I mistaken? [addsig]
Posted by KaGez on 14:25:00 06-14-2001

Lets see here...Rock, Alternative, Punk, Ska, Techno, Classical (Real Classical. Hell, I play Flute, French Horn and Mellophone and like the music we play damnit!:D)...I have a strong dislike to rap and pop (unless I'm dancing or something), and think Country is evil and should die (yes, even though more than half of the FM radio stations in Reno ARE country).

And no, you guys have it all wrong. Eminem and Britany Spears are both Satan in drag. [addsig]

I like almost everything played buy electric guitars. Simply music than can be played 'life'. I used to hear a lot of Hardcore and EmoCore stuff, but right now I'm more into nice punk and a lot of oldschool rock (AC/DC, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Kiss and so on).

When I am on a party and drunk I prefer the 80's (WTF?!) and I also can listen to all that stupid charts trash which would make me furious when I was sober [addsig]

Of course I know them. Two years ago they played at the "Barracke" in my home town Münster. They played in front of fifty or sixty people. That's pretty funny considering that their music videos run on television every day now... [addsig]

My absolute-all-time-favourite-emoCore-bunch-of-guys is (alas, was) Refused. [addsig]
Posted by Peter on 02:49:00 05-29-2002
Cool, Refused was a Swedish band.. I like Dennis Lyxzén's new band, The (international) Noise Conspiracy. I think Refused is a bit leaning to metal..

If Fugazi is emocore, then they are my favorite emo band .
Posted by MoX on 04:08:00 05-31-2002
True, Refused was a bit metal-like but only on their earlier releases ("This just might be..."). They went a straight line. If you listen to their records in a chronological order (I)NC seems to be the necessary consequence. [addsig]

I don't keep tabs on rock groups over here. I don't particularly care for them. [addsig]
Posted by KaGez on 12:20:00 06-01-2002
OOOK, then let's go for some explanation!
Scooter: German Band which owns the company "Sheffield Tunes" (leader: David Sheffield). Consists of 3 guys. Genre is Trance, Techno, Rave. Grounded in 1990 afaik. Most famous songs are: "Hyper Hyper", "Move your ass", "Summer", "How Much is the Fish", "Fire", "Faster Harder Schooter", "Fuck the Millenium", "Ramp - The logical Song".

Barcode Brothers: no idea what these are... it's a band consisting of 2 guys. Genre is Techno and instrumental.

Kai Tracid: German I think, 1 DJ. genre is Trance, Acid (That's where the name comes from: Trance + Acid = Tracid). Most famous song is "Too many times".

Pont Aeri: Spanish DJ club, startedin 1991 (or 2, not sure). Also dunno how many members it has. Genre is Trance, Techno, Hardcore. Dunno any track names, but I'll have to look for some in the next few weeks

Now go listen to some songs! [addsig]
Posted by dxprog on 20:21:00 06-01-2002
OK. I'll go listen to my Star Wars sound track. Maybe the Lord of the Rings one to. And maybe some Beetovhen after that.
