General YPN >> Well, let's make it official
Posted by KaGez on 22:46:00 11-01-2002
As some of you may have seen lately, as well in the channel as in here, I'm sick of the awsome laziness of these so called founders in the YPN. I don't want to go into detail, but I think they are almost the most inactive people (of the active part in here).
So, what does that mean? Simple:
Partyfish is going to be my very last project I do in/for the YPN. When partyfish is up and running on this site, I'm out of this community. YPN was once such a great place, and administration really worked in teams. But lately I'm feeling that they don't do a thing for the YPN, so my motivation is also quite low. I have found other places where I can help to improve things, so getting out of here won't hurt too much.
As said before, by the time partyfish is running on the site, I'm not here as a OP/active user anymore.
Have a nice day, and enjoy your stay at the YPN.

I guess I have to agree with you on the founder thing. fsvara, fabs, robost86, and we all know about Peter, haven't posted in ages. I'll miss you man. [addsig]

ok:
1) I won't be leaving today, and not tomorrow. It could stil take some months
2) Robert (robost) is no founder. He got OP the same time I got it (something like 1 3/4 years ago).
I just wanted to make it official, because I though that the timing fits now (for more informations, see the post peter posted for me, regarding OP stuff)

What's so scandisking notorious about me particularly?

KaGez: I _am_ a founder. Not a "so-called founder". I don't know how you interpret the word, but in common english 'founder' means "one that founds or establishes" (m-w.com). It doesn't mean "the active guy who's always there".

And this "awesome laziness" implies that we have an obligation to be awesomely active. Which we don't. The development that is going on right now lies in partyfish, in which most tasks are already covered by you and moxx, and has been for quite a while. Because of priorities and thereby lack of time, I never took more tasks than the projects section. I reckon you didn't want more partyfish team members as it would have been to many in your opinion...

I'm not really clear about your actual problem now. For me, it felt like I had passed the torch in part, because of other priorities, and it appeared to be fine for everyone. And now that I started to get a little involved again, I thought help was appreciated, but then quite suddenly I find myself kicked.. I have a hard time understanding it.

I'm not saying I'm all innocent and that you're all wrong, but with no dialogue whatsoever, it's hard to reach understanding and the teamwork you're talking about.

People have lives outside of YPN, you know

OK, then tell me how I should actually work with somebody in a team I see once a week/month. That's insane, and nearly impossible. But, as said in the other thread, this discussion will lead nowhere.
And, you'll get rid of me anyways as soon as partyfish is done, so your motivation for getting the projects section done should be quite high now. We won't get partyfish running on the site without the projects section. So, if you wanna get rid of me fast, then get the projects section done as fast as possible. The rest of the system is mostly done (except for the search engine, but it's in work. The theme also needs further work, but that's done quickly), so everything is waiting for you and you project section.
And if you pass the torth to somebody else, clearly speak that out so everybody knows, not just fade out.
Anyways, my decision won't change unless some _really_ _really_ _really_ big changes happen in here.

KaGez: I certainly don't want you out of here! So that's no good argument to make me work on the projects section . However, I will hereby grab myself by the neck and get to work as much as I can.

Let's just settle this down: I'm sorry for my inactivity, from now on I will motivate it, but at the same time be here as much as I can. Peace?
