VBScript .... I wouldn't use VBscript in a web page ... cuz then only ppls with IE can see it (or at least the VBScript part) If you'd do so , you'll help microsoft again one step further to "world domination" .... M$ sux ...

yes this is true, but probably 80% of the ppl use IE.
And VBScript has some kewl feats. that js doesn't

And what about the remaining 20%?

This is a very 'friendly' calculation, when you are among these 20%.

And why use VBscript when there's js that almost every browser understands?

You say it has more features... You mean, like automatically opening in outlook and sending itself to all pepps in the adressbook?

I don't consider that as a 'feature'.

And if it HAS more features for dynamic webpages, that is no excuse for making everything incompatible. The real motor of incompatibility IS M$, incopatibility is their market startegy! As they are still the No1, their artificially created incompatibilities become STANDARDS in the eyes of these 80%.

That IS bad market practice, and that IS why m$ is being sued and that IS why they released the ahlloween stuff, so they could say 'well, we have no monopoly, look at linux!'.

M$ lollipops badly! I do not think Bill Gates is bad, but his company and its market practices STINK! And I will make every effort to make sure this company will NOT exploit its monopoly, which it actually got by bad market practice.

Look at the FUD they are spreading! Look at their EULA, look at their buisness plan, look at their .NET strategy!

Of course everybody is going to make his computer into a dumb terminal! Why? Microsoft WANTS it! And why do they want it? Because THEY will be the server, and in TOTAL control of their customers.

THAT's where we are heading, if this big fscked shit doesn't stop.

And no, I will not support M$, and you shouldn't either.

okok, guys, don't start a flame-war here, we're all on the same side (and site)
I have a lot of VB experience but it doesn't have a lot to do with VB-script...
The only thing that's the same is the BASIC-syntax. If-blocks, for...next etc.
I could write a tut about BASIC-syntax if you like.

that's Kewl fabs.

anyway Microsoft is a bad company but a smartone, you gotta hand it to 'em, afterall they are #1... But if you hate themso bad then VBScript is you solution to M$their internet browser is the only onethat uses VBScript, I use IE 5, say whatyou will but Internet Explorer is oneof the most compliant with the internetbrowsers you can use. you can makeand use lots of stuff with it that youcan't with, say Nutscrape or sMacintoshI never used linux before but idon't hate it.And let's not forgetI don't love winblows either.the only OS that i hate is sMacintosh.

IE is a cool browser. I like the compatibility. But I don't like scripts - I try using JavaScript as little as possible. But I don't know much of DHTML - I think it is basicly a lot of scripts and CSS. It looks cool but it's not very portable (as far as I know). Why don't somebody write a tut about it? [addsig]

I like those Scripts but there isn't much possibility for putting them into a GOOD Website.
I think if you use too much Jscript on your
Website your Wsite becomes shit. [addsig]
