it looks awsome (from what I've heard), bt I'm still one of those who like the traditional way of configuring linux, in the console.
And, if I once get used to my linux, I should be able to fix most of the problems, so it's nothing really for me. But I could imagine that united-linux will be a great help for many companies, since many experienced distributioners came together and made some kind of "standards" for linux too. Tho, for the personal user other distros like Mdk a.s.o would still be better, since they are really easy to install/configure. For advanced people there are distros like debian, gentoo, sourcemage and others.
So, I think united-linux is only for companies interested in switching to linux.

I would love to download it if it's really that easy to install, but on a connection that can barley chug out 5K a second, 1.6GB would take forever.

Yeah, I think I heard about United Linux, isn't SuSE, Turbolinux and a few others working on it?

I believe that the partners are Sco (formerly Caldera), Conectiva, SuSE, and Turbolinux. Getting my copy of it now!

I'm thinking of trying it too, but not now.... I'll wait until the server get a bit more bored and I can get a more stable connection
