problem 1. I installed the themes for sawfish, and when i went to the config, and clicked on themes, it only had the default theme in there. How do i get some cool themes in there?
2.i wanted to get realplayer 8 for Linux, so i can watch my southpark episodes, BUT, when you go to the download section, and click on the free player, you can select your OS. First you go UNIX, and then it lists the different *NIX based OS. One is like Linux/alpha(redhat6.1)
or another one is Linux 2.x (libci386)RPM, and thats the one i took, cuz it had RPM on it... so i download it in windows, put it in a folder, and run linux. xmms works great, i love it, just a comment... and in linux, i access the windows folder, and copy paste the RPM file. but then i double click it, and the RPM program starts up. i click next, and then it gives an error, and sais that it already exists in that directory. how do i install it? did i get the wrong version?
plz help me...

I can't think that a "normal" PC user like you has a Alpha processor , so it should work with the Linux 2.x libc version .
And about that sawfish themes , go check http://sawfish.themes.org for some docs I hope it was the right URL ... if not go check http://www.themes.org
hope you find sumthin

Don't get that rpm shit....
i guess there was an option like
"Linux glibc2.X i386" or similar.. get that.
You'll get a .bin file, i think, and you have to run that...
i remember it was really easy to install... =)

you should tell us what didn't work...
Ok.
Open an xterm (or some other terminal window).
Go to where the .bin file is located.
chmod +x ./*.bin
That is to make sure it's executable.
./TheNameOfTheFile.bin
that should execute it.

btw , do you really think I remember a shit-long-name-that-is-too-long-to-remember-just-to-tell-you-that-it-didn't-work ??
But it was sumthin like that

no heh, get the one that kaegz said, but strip the RPM, get the one without the rpm.
Posted by KaGez on 14:42:00 06-10-2001
why that ?? I think he got a RH based sys ... then it's the easiest to DL RPMs

well, it didn't really work, or lemme tell u this way, i'm just too damn stupid to install it like that... i'm the type of guy, that used windows for so scandisking long, that if an installation has to be done in a non visual interface, its nearly impossible for me well, i'll try again as soon as i return to the US in 2 month's. yes, i am going home to austria for the summer, and i won't have a pc there, so i can come online like every other day or so... well, maybe you can log the chats and lectures we have, so i can also learn, even if i'm not there...
