How's nash working for you?

I was thinking of making a binary program that runs "perl /location-of/nash "

But this won't make any diffirence, probably,

Thanks...

I was also thinking of recoding nash in ScribtBasic, which can be converted to C/C++ and then compiled.

Peter: thx

I amen't changing the lang used for nash.

I wrote to David Korn, the creator of ksh.

He stated that a UNIX shell can be written in Perl.
Take that! To all people who think that UNIX shells can only be written in C/C++! hehe
Korn told me that as long as my UNIX shell follows POSIX Shell and Utilities guidelines it is fine.
My UNIX shell is similar to ksh/bash, etc and obviously they follow POSIX standards, so my UNIX shell is pretty conformant.

there is a thing called speed. and i am sure that perl is not as fast as c, and definately not faster

What would be the advantages of a Perl shell? I mean, except the fun of writing it? [addsig]

mox - isn't that enough?

In my opinion, Perl is totally poetic.. I'd like to do a bigger project in it sometime, just for the thrill of it. it must get close to unmaintaineable .

Peter: Indeed

Yeah, the fun is definitely enough of a reason to code something. But I was simply _interested_ if there are any advantages of a Perl shell, and that was enough of a reason to ask it [addsig]
