Do we really have too less members in here ?? The community is expanding (faster and faster) Will it be really better if the community gets bigger and bigger ??
yeah , ok .... you now think "so what??" yesyes ... just wanted to say this , so that you guys also think about this side ...

I think we are a cool community but we can expand, that wont hurt the community We have enough people to hang out and code right now and the more the better
The way we're growing now is just fine if you're asking me.

So that means that you won't join moondude with his action or what ?? I also think that we are fine this way .... but we could need a few more OpenGL coders though

No, I didn't say that. I just said, yes, we should keep growing, it's good BUT the number of people we have now, that's already cool We're not in BIG need for new coders but having more guys to talk to (and girls, btw, but they are rare ) would also be nice.
But like I said eatlier, the real way we can get this popular is by submiting tutorials to search-engines and these tutorials should contain a link to YPN
But I don't feel the desperate need for us to grow

You don't "sign in" to google, google has a FAT Linux cluster that crawls the net on its own (see "jobs at googele" for some info about their cluster, it's one of the fastest in the world).
And about yahoo, we already submitted our site there. It takes long for sites to appear on yahoo, but I think it's about time now that we get listed... I submitted us like a month ago.
Now, that was a little off topic, so, about getting new members:
Sure, new members are cool. But drastic ways to get more members lollipop (think: spam (email, newsgroups, chat, whatever))...
Right now we're getting a new memebr every day, tho i find it strange most of them don't turn up on the board...
We're doing great =)

fsvara:
nobody said anythin about spamming
but why the hell does it take so long to get listed in that Yahoo stuff ??

I think more members is needed. I don't know much people here in YPN who are like me. Assembler and hardware programming seems uninteresting compared to web programming, 3D programming etc. to you all. In some way, I feel a little alone here.
So, more members would be fun (I don't say I don't like the old ones, but anyways ).

YEah the more the better !
Look at your own ratings..always the same people .. and when you are very very lucky
only 4 people rate your work
that sux. ... to fabs but OFFTOPIC *oo*
Yesterday I got the cool cap
of thinkgeek.com
It rocks!

I'll buy a mug cup at thinkgeek !!! btw , I'm j/k
anyways , it's not un-interesting to program in asm or that stuff , I just have started with 3D programing , and now I want to get better . And for that I concentrate on it and that means I can barely learn other things too (especially asm) . It's not that the interest is not there

It's just a small diverse community I think. While I have also used OpenGL, no one else's langauge of choice (as far as I know) is C++, while there are quite a few C guys.
Posted by KaGez on 12:57:00 07-03-2001
I think we COULD need a bit more members , but we don't NEED to ....
SilentStrike:
I got a problem with a OpenGL code with Alpha ... you think you could help me ??
[addsig]
Posted by SilentStrike on 18:23:00 07-03-2001
Might be able to ya with the OpenGL part, but I've never touched an alpha before, so I know less about that platform than I do Linux, which is pretty amazing .
Posted by KaGez on 01:24:00 07-04-2001
oh , ok .... I think then you can't help me But thx anyways I'll find what I made wrong ! =)

hehe, i think kagez didn't mean the alpha processor, but alpha channels in pictures (which can make a pic look transparent) and 'alpha-blending' (dunno what that is, tho)
i don't thonk kagez has ever touched an alpha, they're a BIT expensive.

I think were a bit off-topic again

so ?? that's totaly normal in here .... and , that's one thing I like in here !!

Posted by SilentStrike on 19:36:00 07-04-2001
Heh, I saw the capital a in Alpha and thought the platform , rather than the alpha meaning transparency.
Posted by KaGez on 02:21:00 07-05-2001
lol ... so can you help me with the transperency alpha ??
