hehe, cool

i wondered why the board was stalled at 55 memebrs, i thought it was another mysql thing, but i checked it by registering that test account...

usually we'd get a new member like every other day, i wonder what happened to that...

promoting is HELL important, yeah
Unfortunatelly, there are not many people linking us at the mom If you no any cool programming-sites, please suggest ypn You can also give'em the url of our banners, you know, the ones Peter created.
Another very, very effective thing to do is put links on all of your tutorials and submit the tutorials (plain html) not only to the network but also to search-engines.
It'd be really great to have a lot more members Even though I think what we have here is already a great hang-out, I imagine it being even better with say... a 100 members... More members means more tutorials, more code, more posts, more people in the IRC-channel = more fun

I think that "putting the URL on the bottom of the tuts and code" is a good idea . maybe the one that is most effective , and most easy to do . Should I start to add the URLs right away ?? =)

well, another thing: More members, the more posts==--> more admins needed, and that means more "jobs", which means a lot more ppl take effective care about YPR!!!!!!
Posted by robost86 on 00:38:00 06-16-2001
Hmm... More admins? Something tells me too many admins may cause trouble. I agree it maybe is a bit too much for the fabs and svara to do on the page, now when Péter is away. They are germans (or are going to german schools) so they have still some school left.

Maybe one or two more admins, but I don't think "a lot more ppl", like he wrote isn't a good idea.
Posted by KaGez on 02:26:00 06-16-2001
lol yeah ..
But , now there isn't that much to do for the admins ... or is there ??

There is a hell lot to do and we have a little TODO-list hanging out in the private-section. We're all aware that this has to be done but as you know, school is taking too much of our time. So we agreed on making the big updates in July because we all have vacation then. But what kagez and robert say is true, admins, moderators etc, we don't need a lot of them. To be honest, I'd like to keep it the way it is because it took us a long time to get everything sorted out as a team. A team of 3 people is controllable, a team of 5 people would be, too but it'd be harder.
Right now, I think, most work is done by non-admins Those of us who are laready on vacation and writing tutorials for all
Hopefully, I'll get time to write another tut soon Today I'm pushing my tetris-clone from version 0.7 up to 1.0

hhhmmm .. We built this site up all together =) We as a community =) but , the biggest credit goes to the admins to makes it possible to us for building it up

thanks man... but I would like to give a lot of credit to those of you who are there a lot of the time for the community, and those who are active... I mean, you don't need to be an "admin" to be an important and reliable person, it's all about how much you are ready to give for the fun of this all.

Btw, sorry about being so absent and inactive, but I'm on vacation in Hungary. I promise to get to work as soon as I return!!! I've bought two Assembly books and I will prolly buy a c++ book as well.. that should get me working! Also, there is some hope for a revamping of our "community engine" that allows us to interact better, or something.

big ups to all of y'all

ps. oh and fabs, don't ask what functions I am scheming on... cause I dunno yet
Posted by KaGez on 14:47:00 06-27-2001
hehe , the admins are more important ... without em we couldn't work in this community if you hadn't made it
but , I'll also be much inactive in the summer vacation (
I only got 3 weeks of "real" vacation ...
here are the scedules for my 2 months of vacation :
1st 2 weeks , at home , with PC
5 days , aways from home in Okinawa , without PC
5 days at home again , with PC
4 weeks away , in germany , without PC (
last week , at home with PC
so , I won't be very active (
but I'll come everyday possible
