A lot of people have joined YPN recently and I'd just like to welcome you all aboard

Just a q: How did you find YPN? Did you all come from over at cprogramming.com?

Yup - I just noticed the URL in Silent Strike's sig at cprogramming.com and came over. Since this board is for constructive criticism, how about this? At cprogramming.com, if you've already logged in, you don't have to re-enter you name and password to post - it's just filled in. That'd be cool to see here

Hi! Yeah, we know, we're working on a lot of features for Sasquatch 2 (v2 of our system) and one will be cookies for remembering logins.

Hey, you're a Beastie fan of some sort? Your name makes me think... of Government Cheese

Have I missed something? I don't have to fill in my uname and pass everytime I post something.

Welcome Govtcheez

To answer fabs' question about how I found YPN.

I installed Linux RH on my comp, and quickly found the X-IRC chat client. Then I listed all channels on the server I was on, and saw #ypr. The topic about young programmers was right up alley, so I joined. And then I talked to alot of interesting people
I followed the URL in the topic and came here, and here I am!

Oh, the usual. Looking for a place to hang out, meet other geeks. Talk about code. Help out, learn something. That sort of thing.

Found this through Google, nice search engine that it is.

I think most of us here likes Google .

What did you search for on google?
Posted by robost86 on 21:47:00 08-02-2001
Hehe, you should have keywords like 'warez xxx casino gamez virii' to get ppl here
Posted by Peter on 11:45:00 08-03-2001
No, that's a cheap trick. But I'īve noticed we get quite good listings on Google.

Peter: of course I wasn't serious, we don't want that kind of people here anyway.

Actually, I was looking for stuff on programming contests. What with one thing or another, I found this site. =)
