General YPN >> Suggestions for Sasq2

A large links database where members can submit links under different catagories. It would be better than submitting links and putting them with the submitted tutorials and programs.

Also a 'reccomended' section. Where you can reccomend books, programs or anything.

That way if you are looking for a nice ftp program and don't want to try about five out to find a good one you could see if anyone has a reccomendation. Just some thoughts, later.

ok, most of them aren't features of sasquatch in any way... most things can be solved by just creating a new section.
And, I'm totally happy with the links stuff as it is now :/ To be honest, I never used _any_ of those submitted links...

The point is catagorizing submitted links would make them more usefull, sort of like google's web directory, except mainly about computers. Right now this catagory system isn't too great.

I hate to be negative, but Sasq doesn't exactly seem like it is being improved any. The current system works, and is useable, but is it good? It is good, but it could be better, alot better without too much effort.

Svara: it seems so, yes.

Nonama: your comment adds a lot to the discussion.

I'll put upp a poll about new sections as soon as I get the time and energy.

aww, 'cmon, changing the poll isn't much of work ....

peter: (nonama) no, but it adds one to his post count! just as does this post for me, making me even leeter!

Actually, changing the poll right now _is_ much work.

Because what will the poll be about? The Java section? The windows section? The "recommended" section? The link categorization? I thought I'd make a new type of poll, with checkboxes so you could choose several of these. It cannot be implemented with our current poll script, and I have neither time nor motivation to change that now.

oh, ok
I though you just wanted to ask a new Q and reset the DB... but that's a little bit of work, yes...
