I think you should allow people to insert a short description underneath their submission (code/link/article), sort of like a search engine.

It's already pretty full with the amount of info it has now with the 5 latest entries. Just keep the name fairly long and descriptive and it should be ok.

hm, yeah, if we keep this design, SilentStrike is right. Flikm is right, too, though... if we changed the design that is...
What does everybody else think? Is this important enough to change the design?

Flikm: I don't really get what you mean - we do have a description field already. Do you mean keywords of some sort?

Flikm's idea isn't bad, but I think SilentStrike also is right. But if you'd redesign the stuff like Flikm said, the fromt page would be ful of that stuff ... the whole page would need a re-design

i dunno... i am very happy with ypn's design atm... and descriptions could break the whole page if they are very long...

actually, i was talking about the sections. i browse through say, the C/C++ section, i don't know what the links/code/article are so i just sit there looking.

I don't say "change it!", but I think it's a good idea, since the YPN also has bandwidth limits, and for users with slow modems it also is annoying to lead a new page just to see what the stuff is. not such a bad idea ...
