Who's interested in letting young people everywhere know about the joys of hobbyist programming and pointing them towards a common place on the Internet for getting help learning?

why start something you're at right now?
thinking is hard, we know Smerdy.

besides, you already failed in doing that one time.
(if you don't know what I mean, maybe the keyword "TPU" will help you)

Go back in your corners both!

KaGeZ: TPU was never a failure.

Smerdyakov: Seems like you like to stir up controversy even after getting banned.

We can dislike each other but becoming ennemies would be BAD.

Neu[Mann]:
I never said that the TPU itself was a failure, no, also I never believed that.
but... well, make your own conclusions. I think it won't help much anymore anyways if I say something now.

I may be dumb but I still think YPN and TPU/HProg should work together...

There would be no winner in the contrary happens.

As it is now, we are not going anywhere. [addsig]

I think you have both misinterpreted what I said.

I was not suggesting starting "just another web site" or doing anything else online.

I am suggesting a "real-life" advertisement campaign about a subject near and dear to all of our hearts, and the creation of a central URL to point people to for convenience. It could contain links to YPN, hprog, etc..

Well, it's true, I misinterpreted what you said and I'm quite happy I did

I 100% agree.

well, now, after I see that I misinterpreted it too, I've thought about it again. Now here's my view:
The idea itself may be good, but it won't be very reasonable. Now keep cool and listen to my explanation:
No matter where you will do those irl things, only _very_ small parts of us will be able to join it, since we live all spread aloover the world. If you would do it on the west-coast of the US you'll maybe be able to gather a few (maybe 1 or 2) more than on the east-coast (I haven't counted this, this is just a example). You see what I mean?
Now, if you mean that you want to make kind of a "advertisement" instead of irl young programmer meetings, that'd be a different story again.
I understood it as if you're trying the thing I've opinionated above.
If not, then forget all I wrote above.

I don't think he was talking about meetings in RL. Just advertisement.

He is probably thinking uniting all our forces into advertising one common URL linking to our respective sites.

Hopefully, he'll detail his idea soon [addsig]

Umm, I'm not to sure if I agree with him... [addsig]

I know I don't [addsig]

I don't know if I agree or not, but since he seems to better don't tell us what he's thinking.... I don't care if he's going to present his idea now or if we will can simply forget all this... let's wait a bit more
