Well... I assume all of us here are intelligent people who are young programmers. Out of curiosity what are your average grades in math, english, science, etc....

Well, intelligence can't always be described with school grades.. what if you're programming instead of doing homework ;P..
however, translated from the Swedish system, I got A's in those subjects... dunno how it will look further on and I don't care a whole lot...

in germany you get grades from 1-6, 1 being the best (and there's stuff like x+ and -. + is like substarcting 0.25 from the grade and - adding 0.25... 2-3 means 2.5).
On that scale, my average of all classes this semester was around 2.3...

Most colleges in the US use a 4.0 scale, with 4 being the best, but mine has to be different at everything, so we use a 100 point weighted scale. My WAG (weighted grade average, yes, I know the letters are transposed, but WAG sounds a lot better than WGA) is about 88 or so (translates to a 3.5 or so).
My GPA in high school was 3.75

My grades are good, but not that great--got a 3.83 GPA right now. It'd be a hell of a lot lower except I generally do well on tests; I just don't turn in (or generally do) homework. However, I did score a 1460 on my SAT back in November, my first time taking it since 7th grade (when I scored a 1320).

well i dont program well but maybe i am good enough at school i was better wen i was still in grade 7 and because there was no grade 8 for me in grade 9 i got an average of 1.9 in the first half of the year.
its german rankings 1-6
Posted by KaGez on 14:45:00 04-09-2002
there are also other ranking systems that use the same numbers, so here's a little explanation:
1 - best
6 - worst
enough?

Whats school?
Posted by kpyro on 01:42:00 04-11-2002
We go on a 4.0 scale and last semester I had a 4.0 and I will have a 4.0 this semester also.
Posted by jkcnshs on 07:46:00 04-27-2002
I've never really been too good in math. But I've always excelled in english, and science. I'm not saying that I lollipop in math, but it's never been one of my strong points. I make fairly decent grades.... around a 3.5 one a 4.0 scale, and I'm hoping tobring it up to a 3.8 or so my senior year.

Seriously, what does intelligence have anything to do with programming? Being a programmer isn't very intelligent these days.
Posted by Neu[Mann] on 22:44:00 07-14-2003
Well, what are you doing on Young PROGRAMMERS Network then kenikov?
Except annoying the hell out of everyone... ?

You must admit, that today pretty much anyone get learn programming.
The profession of Programming has become so common that the average pay is $37,000.
I mean, it is not like becoming a M.D., Lawyer, Architect, Dentist or Accountant anymore.
All I am saying is, you don't need to be intelligent to program.
No need to get all touchy Neumann
Posted by Neu[Mann] on 04:11:00 07-15-2003
Well, you say "No need to be intelligent to be a programmer" and I shouldn't get 'touchy'?
No need to argue with you. It's not even worth it.

Whatever Francois. You just don't want to argue because you end-up losing.
That's okay though, my wins over you have gotten so alésage, shall we say?
Posted by Neu[Mann] on 05:08:00 07-15-2003
You seem to like to show your total lack of skills in french:
Quote:
'Alésage': Terme utilisé par convention pour désigner tout élément intérieur d’une pièce, même non cylindrique.
[Term used to describe the interior of any kind of material piece]
Please, stop using whatever translating software you use to try to show off...
And arguing with you is ENNUYANT yeah because you act in bad faith like you did yesterday before you got kicked by Mike on #tpu.
This is my last message on YPN. I suggest you don't come back to #tpu ever.

I have no problem with that, I've retired from IRC.
There is really no point to IRC if you think about it. Everyone that gathers there are just losers. They either try to pretend to be smart, or they are just assholes like you Francois. They have no friends, that is why they gather there all day.
Even former visitors of #TPU and IRC agree.
I've only been on a few actual good channels.
Mike_L only kicked me because he is insecure about himself. HIs arguments always showed that as he would belie anything one said and say "fluff", then when you tell him this he would kick you.
He was the one breaking Freenode rules, and when I reported him, you could see his guilt and fear.
He was the one that insulted me yesterday, and I simply pointed him to a link that described him the best, like I did to you.
Since this is your last post, and I won't be on IRC anymore, I feel like leaving on a good note with you.
So goodbye. Your antics were amusing Francois. Stupid, but amusing while they lasted.
And to you, I say, Adieu!
