Well, this isn't exactly "coding" (hey, rename the secttion! *g*), but it is a nice project anyway:
Make a logo for the Sasquatch 2 engine, preferrably in colours that fit well into our current design. KaGez has already made one, we will later have a vote about which to use.

as I've said before, I think a PHP engine logo shouldn't be bound to a specific design, because everybody who will use it should also have the opportunity to choose the look of the GUI (interface). So, I think it's a "not too good" idea to make the logo of a PHP engine look like the design it's "parents" use.

There are aleady some available, also with the GIMP's xcf file. The .tar.gz file in the directory includes all images currently in the directory.

well, if we're going to put it on the site, then it should also fit with it... logos usually always use the colours of their "parent" company to streingthen the corporate identiy... but that's not the point, imho ypn3.png looks pretty cool and could very well fit into our design.

what i mean, and you certaily agree, is that the logo has to fit into the design if we put it on the page, simply.
it might be a nice logo, but if it looks like it was designed for some satanist site, we'r enot going to use it, for an extreme example.

well, i've made some logos,
i didnt want to mess with graphics and stuff, because i think that properly choosen fonts can do the trick.
i've offered a lot of solutions, so maybe one of them would be acceptable, if not as a logo then as some kind of trademark or something

that doesn't matter for the beginning... you should worry about such things after they've been considered for use
Not sure about this, but that's what I think... you should first worry about how they look. If you use a reasonable imaging program (which supports layers) you can add transparency with a few clicks afterwares, not matter how complex the logo is

ok, the last logo didn't take me more than 10 hours, but I didn't use _any_ filters or such, so I'm kinda satisfied with it. So, you think the longer it takes the better the logo is? It means _absolutaly_ nothing when it takes you 5 hours to make a logo. Either you have no idea what to do, or you use your paint program for the first time. Anyways, the time it takes to make doesn't say anything about the quiality.

"That Guy" could maybe show us what he did, and not only tell us how great his stuff is and blah blah blah blah. Get some webspace, upload it and show us. Or are you scared that we would make a lookalike logo?

theres more than 15 logos there i made in round an hour. and those logos are what is called FontDesign ---> made in black, grey and white so you can change everything on them in a minnute. They all look sophisticated. and thats the differenc, and thats what i was telling you. They have all the marks of modern design.

Now another and most important thing :
when i post messages i do it to post either thought or expirience ---> BUT NOT BECAUSE I FEAR that someone 'll take my place in VImportantP/VsmartP list. got it.

one of my best friend called philip goes to art school. he is a very good designer and photographer.
but every important project he has im always the one that'll see his work before teachers. why? cause i always give his works a thing thats called : the final touch. [addsig]

heh... that "final touch" is the _most_ easy thing in making pic, at least on the PC. The most difficult part is to get a idea, and it's even more difficult to realize that idea. doing "finah touch"es is only something that can be done in 1 or 2 mins.
And, whatever that "Font Design" is, I can also make a script-fu that creates a grayscale pic with every font I have installed ....

they aren't bad images.. but they are, sorta... not simple enough for a logo. IMHO, a logo has to be simple first of all, no complicated shiny effects and such stuff...

No. 8 looks really cool... But No. 5 could be easily incorporated into the color scheme...

crion: There are no sizes or something, but I prefer to do it on a 300x150 cambus, because it also looks good after resizing
I use any colors, as you can see in my other logos, so does nonama, and as far as I've heard we also have some monocolor pics from IbYdI. It's just up to you and your Idea!

now something else, how are we gonna vote for the logos? i actually would like a sort of two round voting, where you first vote for the 3 logos you like best, and then we vote between the 3 logos that performed best.
I think that would be good, because I at least couldn't choose one logo so easily, there are a lot of good ones. And later, voting between the three best ones would make it a lot easier, as there's less coice...

Fresh Logos again!
Lately I'm into that Aqua Pill stuff, so I created some Aqua Pill logos for Sasquatch2 Rather than talking lengthy, I'll just show em to you:

my 7th logo for sasq2, which I like best:

This first looked _hell_ crappy, but after about 1 hour of work it looked quite good
anyways, next

8th logo:

I don't know how I could get this done, but it definitely looks cool! It's simple, and looks good, and also is easy to remember. The font is variable, as you can see below (#8-2):


Next one isn't too cool.... actually, I was just playing around. Anyways, If you change the font it'll also look extremely cool Here is #9:



The fonts are easy to change, so it won't be a too big problem!
Btw, if you're interested in what tool I used:

fsvara: for the pills I only used the bezier curve, and some of that blut stuff... ofcourse I used also some layer effects... just go get the xcf file and try it out way easier that if I try to explain now

ok, most probably the final submission from me (that is, if this contest is over today).
I've cleaned up the pill in #9 a bit and changed the style a little. The font looks rather simple. It was the best one I have atm, cuz I've just rehabilated from a completly doomed system... anyway, I still haven't re-installed my TTF fonts, so I've used this font. But I think that font also looks kinda cool
