I think it would be good if you post your own "discoveries", tricks and tips for some programming langauge or whatever in the according forum, so that at a later point people will be able to look at them quickly.
Of course, if it is something a bit longer han a few sentences, submit it as a code snippet ot tutorial...

ok, let's make it clear... how should we decide if we should post it as a discovery or a code snippet/tut ?

i dunno.. it was just an diea, perhas it would be better to submit everything as dnippet/tut.. i thought if it was something small and quick, just sibmit it to the board... Like, if you found the asnwer to some question you might've posted...

ah, ok, so you mean things like Peter and I did in one post (dunno which on it was... the "shorten the text" thingy)... ok, I'll try to post such little stuff on the board

well, if someone asks something on the board, answer it on the board, otherwise don't. i'd say =)

so these "discoveries" will be "code helping others on request"? let's discuss this in the chan next time we're all one... should be soon, since weekend is approaching again

Robert's tip of the day:
_|=_^(_)^_;
This code looks cute, but does nothing. Don't use it in your programs.

lmao
what was that for? I'll post some of that too then! =D
(o'.')-o)-x)/

Bah, my was valid C code
Posted by robost86 on 14:19:00 02-01-2002
And really, if you short that down, the only thing it does is like x=x;
Posted by KaGez on 02:04:00 02-02-2002
hehe, why should I post valied C code if it also looks cute if it is invalid?

i thought of that yeasterday. you should add anouther type of files. like new doctype in db. to submit file that are "thinking loud". or just make a separate section. i somethimes have ideas and have no place to put them.
Posted by KaGez on 13:29:00 02-13-2002
ok, I dunno how this is in your case, but when I think about something I wanna code, I _always_ think in that language. So if I think about a PHP script I think in PHP, and if I think about a C/C++ program I think in C/C++.
so the section is clear in the result ...

what about a "how i did it" forum like on linuxnewbie.org?
Posted by KaGez on 13:12:00 02-14-2002
that would be good
maybe make a new section on the board on it and it will do good
a new section because:
1.) You can then also submit how to setup stuff that you had trouble with (plz, not like "how to install apache on debian")
2.) it doesn't have to be programming related (should be related with comps tho )
I think that's a good idea

I think that you should post stuff like that in their related forums.
So if I manage to get some Winmodem working on Slackware for instance, I post in the linux section etc.
