Hi,

I would like to know how to open a sound (wave) file and how to put it in an array.
Thanks.

You can find out everything you need to know about wave files at Wotsit's File Formats. It's not too hard figure out for yourself. [addsig]

Uh... that is not Visual Basic.

It's not really anything. It's just file formats. Besides any C stuff they have is easily converted to VB. [addsig]

Not if you don't know c.

I'll write a tutorial on converting between the two. It's really simple. Trsut me [addsig]

I know you don't trust me. I have half the tutorial done already. [addsig]

That'll be cool. At least I trust you
Because voice recognition interests me
I'd like to know how to compare waves
with eachother etc.

I finished part 1 of the tutorial last night. It's the one that deals with varibales and related things. It'll be up by Saturday at the latest. I'm interested in the wave comparison to, but I'm am buried under a few things at the moment to do anything. I'm still an active partyfish developer, and I'm working on my first big gaming project. I wish you the best of luck .

Okay, there you go. Everything you need is in Part 1 and part 2 is in the works. [addsig]

Let's see... whY I don't trust a word you say... you say you have too much to do right now so you can't do anything w/ the wave comparison, yet you just wrote a tutorial. You are very dumb.

ophline he means he has too much to do in the way of programming projects(i think).

conversion between vb and c/c++ is very easy
i made a program once in vb to convert vb variables to and from c/c++ variables and another bit that converts if statements.

i was going to build it into an almost complete vb to c/c++ and back convertor but never did..

No, ophline is just lazy. He expects me to write everything for him I don't have time, especially since I am on the partyfish team, not to mention all the stuff I do outside of coding (taking care of siblings, school, chores, etc.).

I thought of making a converter when I was writing that tutorial, but as I said, I was busy with other stuff. Maybe you should post your program
