I turn 16 at the end of this month. My dad just got me a car, it is a 86 Oldsmobile Firenza, I have not seen it yet, but he said it looks like a cutlass, I can't wait....

I'd recommend a Ferrari instead:

Who knows more about this type of encryption? Don't flame me if there is some stinky stuff about this, I haven't read the terms and regulations.
We could team up and then sell the thing .

I need to be 18 too. But I don't see much of a use for a car.

You might not have a use for one, but I hadn't already had on when I turned 18, I'd be screwed...
I drive a 96 Olds Cutlass, btw...

Gov: But you live in the car country
Posted by MoX on 14:39:00 03-15-2002
Well, our cars are one of the best things of our country
When I see BMW, Mercedes, Porsche I don't miss any american crap-mobile

--> Gov: But you live in the car country
Well, yeah (car state, too - home of GM, Ford, and Chrysler), but I meant that I have to drive to work, and it's a little too far away to ride my bike or walk...
/me walks into flamewar
American cars do not lollipop by any stretch of the imagination... Tell me - has any non-American company made a decent pickup truck?
Posted by fsvara on 14:48:00 03-15-2002
heh, i dunno about pickups, it's not like i really care about them
but just see how american cars break (as in: loose momentum) in movies, for example. They look like piles of rusty metal attached with springs to four wheels. ok, that's a bit exagerrated, but you get the point
compare that to mercedes, porsche, even vw or audi
Posted by MoX on 14:55:00 03-15-2002
Hmm...Mercedes and VW have AFAIK produced pickups...

Well, that's nice - I know tons of people that need them and use them everyday.

Movies are what you're basing this on? God, kill me now!
Posted by fsvara on 15:21:00 03-15-2002
i've rarely seen american cars irl. and why should cars in movies break differently than irl. i mean, not in action movies of course

--> and why should cars in movies break differently than irl.
Maybe because it's a movie... Ever see a movie with technically accurate stuff about computers in it?
