So, looks like we have 2 candidates for the new name of our PHP engine.
1) AquaTox
2) Partyfish

Everybody has 1 vote. please choose the one you like better.

ok, I've thought about this for a while too, and I decided to go with (1), AquaTox.

I don't like any of these possibilities, so I refuse to vote.

(silently I hope that it's going to be partyfish so that I could tell people that we were drunk when we chose the name) [addsig]

1. AquaTox, though you can just say kagez and I choose the name, and you knew nothing of it.
Or you were drunk

so...
AquaTox - 2
Partyfish - 0
still some people need to vote...

No vote defaults to first option.
Being AquaTox

So AquaTox... 4
PartyFish... 0

bah, no
it looks like fsvara is disappointed enough already.

partyfish.

If so many people are concerned with the lack of options (that includes me more or less), why can't svara and mox come with their own suggestions? I could perhaps think of something too, _in_that_case_.

If I have to choose now, I cast my vote on partyfish. AquaTox is the name of a school network and a chemical corporation.
Posted by KaGez on 01:16:00 09-01-2002
I also think that svara should at least _try_ to do something for the YPN... it's starting to get on my neves that he always play what do I know what, is not in the chan, does not care about the msg board, doesn't not care about the YPN at all too much, and then complains about things I (or we) try to get done ...

OK, but I think we've got our results:
2 - AquaTox
4 - Partyfish
(2 of the paryfish votes were indirect)

Congratulations, we have finally (really finally) found a name for our new PHP engine!
Maybe not everybody is really too happy with this, but, democracy sux

Edit:
Peter: Moxx already came up with his idea, which was .thought, so I think we can't blame him for anything
and, you've had the time to give suggestions already for 2 or even more weeks. I don't wanna start all this over _again_.

OK, then partyfish it is
Posted by fsvara on 06:45:00 09-01-2002
-->is not in the chan,
uhm, that qualifies as "wrong", i believe.
-->does not care about the msg board,
see above
-->and then complains about things I (or we) -->try to get done ...
oh, well, finding a name is not usually a thing that takes a lot of effort to "get done" right? i like the two options given here just equally (or don't like them equally, that's the same ). we have discussed this in the chan, on the board, _really_ extensvely (not to say, too much), but it looks like "partyfish" is actually the one name that some people want.

-->(2 of the paryfish votes were indirect)
ahem, indirect votes, how does that work? Like, "i believe linus torvalds likes fish (to be eaten by his penguins), so he'd choose partyfish."

-->Congratulations, we have finally (really -->finally) found a name for our new PHP -->engine!
that was hard indeed.

-->democracy sux
that's why we don't use it, right?

He hoped it gets partyfish, so it counted as a vote since everybody seemes to have voted, and it was 2-2, which won't lead to a conclusion
Adn, as far as I can see you said that you are absolutely the same opinion as moxx. Now you can at least say that you were drunk

Yes, at least. But partyfish is at least fun. And the project means a lot of fun to me. So, the name is not absoultely bad for me. [addsig]

yeah, I'm also having great fun coding this. from outside it'll seem like boring stuff (maybe), but inside partyfish is really exciting imho. Clean code as I've never seen it before, easy to understand sources (well commented/documented). I also love to work together with moxx on this. Almost always great fun to talk/code with him

Yeah, it's fun. Too bad that we meet so seldom...timezones lollipop! [addsig]
Posted by KaGez on 18:21:00 09-03-2002
and from now on (for 2 months) we can only meet on weekends!
I'm in school while you're on in IRC, and you're at work while I'm on
But, we can still communicate and, I don't think that it will affect our work too much, since we have a message board and priv msgs
[addsig]
Posted by MoX on 18:32:00 09-03-2002
yeah, we will still be able to talk. Also, I think we'll occassionally meet in our extreme hours (very late, very early). [addsig]
Posted by KaGez on 23:48:00 09-03-2002
or chat in real-time (almost ) on the msg board through priv msgs like we do now

Posted by MoX on 00:17:00 09-04-2002
hehe, yeah, but only while my boss is out of sight [addsig]
Posted by KaGez on 15:53:00 09-04-2002
hehe, looks like he isn't in sight too often

Posted by MoX on 17:53:00 09-05-2002
no, he's mostly in his room, twenty meters away. [addsig]
Posted by KaGez on 18:11:00 09-05-2002
oh, and now the best would be if his room is just behind you monitor!
