I'll just post a raw chatlog.. that's so much easier
<svara> abhi: yes?
<abhi> i have a small idea
<abhi> so thought of asking one of the crew
<svara>
<svara> what's your idea?
<abhi> i was thinking abt having a common mailing list for all our programming groups, mine , ypn , linux-coding, platon...
<abhi> i already suggested it to linux-coding, some of the guys liked it
<abhi> and the platon guy will be replying to me in a while
<svara> hm..
<svara> we'd need to discuss this...
<abhi> sort of a web-ring
<svara> what's palton?
<abhi> 1 sec
<abhi> http://www.platon.sk/
<svara> we were actually planning to set up mailing list(s) for ypn in the not too far future
<svara> so that would be a nice idea
<abhi> you guys use forums a lot
<abhi> we use ml here
<svara> yeah, most oss projects do
<svara> i am subscribed to a few ml's
<svara> i dunno what i prefer...
<abhi> k
<abhi> anyway give it a thought
<svara> but having both would be good to
<abhi> lets see what fabs thinks abt it
<svara> not to replace the forums tho..
--- ChanServ gives channel operator status to rob_ert
<abhi> the ml will only for programming Q's
<abhi> and project discussions
<svara> hm..
<svara> then i don't know if it would be so good for us, becasue that's what our forums are for
<svara> i thought more of a weekly digest/review or something
<abhi> they can be comlementary
<abhi> they can be complementary
<abhi> some may prefer it, some not
<svara> you're right... i actually prefer forums for information about projects... i am always pretty reluctant about signing up to mailing lists, because they are often tedious to handle (majordomo) and spam you to death if you don't use filters...
