Yeah, I overwrote kernel32.dll with a different one and I need it back. I need kernel32.dll for windows 95.

I could help you if you'd have 98 (not SE).... maybe the 98 one also works for 95?

reinstall Win95, or search the net for it

I deleted my only copy of the Win95 kerenl last month. Crud. Microsoft has a kernel update for win95 on their site. Here's the URL. http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/ Download the "Windows Socket Update - Kernel 32" in the networking section.

Ok, I can't even get into windows to install and updates...I need the actual kernel32.dll file. And the one for 98 won't work. That's all I can find on the net.

Then how are you posting? If you have WinZip you can extract the kernel file out of the install package. If you don't, e-mail it to me and I will do it for you (I can't access the file because Microsoft screwed up their content rating syntax . No comments PUH-LEASE)

Since when do you help people with their Windows problems, KaGez? No offense, but it is kind of weird. After all you must be one of the biggest Linux users on the YPN.

KaGeZ! Astonishing! Yet so Wierd!

Watch out kpyro!! He's slipping you a Linux kernel, and it will take over your system!!!

lol
no, it's a real win95 kernel
anyways, did it work?
I didn't say I don't help windows ppls. It's just that I'd never use Windows for myself (except I can't really avoid it). I dislike windows, but that's not a reason for letting a firend sit in there without a solution if he's stuck!

where did you get the kernel32.dll from then?
Posted by KaGez on 23:05:00 06-14-2002
fsvara:
if you'd have read tha bove, you'd now know that I've DLed the file somebody posted above, and extracted the kernel from it.

ah, that wan't clear tho so you extracted it out of an update package? why does the update include the kernel32.dll... is it modified?
Posted by KaGez on 00:10:00 06-16-2002
dunno if it is a full kernel, but I think so... I think microsoft doesn't release "patches" as we know them They always have to recompile and redistribute the whole thing, you know

Posted by dxprog on 07:06:00 06-17-2002
Yeah, it was an updated kernel. There was a memory leak in networks, so that was the fix.
