The Crew's Lounge >> Just a idea but....
Posted by KaGez on 16:07:00 09-01-2003
I think we could keep the YPN running more efficient and also improve it a lot if we look for another 1 or 2 admin(s) and specialize ourselves a bit.
I for one would be extremely interested to "hire" (well, wrong word, but you know what I mean) that happyhippo (or whatever that guy's called) and let him for example do the art work of the YPN.
If we start with this now already, we would probably have a easier life afterwars when Partyfish comes.
What do you think about this?

That would be hippsipp Sounds like a good idea to me, I'm sick of templating [addsig]

specializing is a good idea. I really lollipop at taking time for creative group work, it seems, I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I'd fit better for some other task, anyway. I could be our mascot or something

Yeah, let's make him dress up as a giant teddy bear or a certain purple "dinosaur" [addsig]

If you need more Admins, consider RDD... [addsig]

I'm not considering C_Rdd until his attitude changes. We can't have two admins who can't get along (or one who doens't like another). I think four admins is enough for now, anyways.

Well, he is my buddy from TPU, and I told him I'd put a good word in for him [addsig]

I agree, there are quite a few attitude problems from him. [addsig]

Can I make him a super moderator to see how he handles it? If he goes insane and tries to ban me or something, I'll remove his privilages. Because he does seem to know what he's talking about, and that's somewhat important too.
Posted by DInsane on 11:52:00 10-11-2003
I say you don't, since that would give him some feeling of authority and he'd end up doing things to people he gets in disagreements with. He'd also brag about being a moderator afterwards. [addsig]

If he did, he would last at most five minutes before I banned him.

No! That could result in some horrible things (like him becoming the _only_ admin). Not to sound rude, but don't go messing cow. [addsig]

Okee, I honestly wouldnt anticipate him doing something like seizing control as the only admin, however I think Dxprog's advice should be followed.

But perhaps see how things go for a bit and, in time, start him off as a moderator of a forum of a topic that he seems to know about, and see how he does then. [addsig]

You're forgetting that mods can't modify accounts. So the only way for him to become the only admin would be if we decided on that. And that would mean less work for us

I wouldn't anyways though [addsig]
Posted by DInsane on 00:15:00 10-13-2003
I say we don't give him anything. He doesn't deserve it for the way he acts, and there are people who deserve that position more than him. [addsig]

Or we could make him an "admin" but then give him an exremely strict list of responsibilities that are due by the next day, so that he willingly resignes. Then he'd stop trying to become an admin...

lol
Let's just not bother [addsig]

I agree. [addsig]
