I just returned from my one-week-class-trip which was actually quite fun
So now I'll have a 1 week vacation and I decided to dedicate this week to ypn-development. When I say ypn-development, I'm actually refering to more than just coding for the ypn-website: I think we should pick up the idea of forming little groups and split up the tasks of this community.
Right now, I'm pretty tired cause I've been on a ship for the last 24 hours.
Anyway, let's pick thi up tomorrow

I think the best way I can help the YPN with is things that don't have directly with the page to do. Coding, helping and supporting people, kicking lamers from the channel (;)) and things like that. I doubt I ever will get interested enough by PHP/MySQL to learn it.
I'm planning to write an extensible scripting languages aimed at portability and flexibility (e.g. it should be easy to add functions and data types). If anyone feels like this should be the first big YPN project, post here. If enough of people are interested, I start a thread on the projects section.
At your service, mylord.

Writing up a language. Goooooood luck. You're gonna need it.

Yeah, I agree, that's gonna be a tough one. But what exactly would you use to make a programming language? You could use C++ right? Just wonderin'....

I use C, and for your information, I've already made both compilers and intepreters.

alright, I'm back. Wheeew 12 hours of sleep and I didn't wake up once
Anyway, we can kick off now.
First of all, I'd like to talk about spliting up some non-coding related work. YPN-Promotoion is pretty important. We need flashy little banners, Logo's and we've always wanted a mascot Anybody with a lot of gimp-experience to do this job? Can we maybe form a team of 2-3 people to do this?
(This job also includes finding possible websites to link to us, researching on how we can get listed well on search-engines etc.)
Now for some more coding-related jobs. Sasquatch2 is going to be rewritten from scratch. We've decided to do this because the code was just not structured enough as nonama had already suggested some time back.
So, Mox, we're actually starting off from scratch so we can release the source-code from the beginning on
People who'd like to help out on sasq should contact me directly via e-mail. Right now, I know that Peter, KaGez and sacah wanted to help out.
I'd like to get 2 or 3 more people for this project and then we should start putting up feature-lists and notes about prefered code-structures.
I'll start writing a little document about the structure I'd suggest now. As soon as it's done, I'll host it somewhere.

don't collect too many ppls for sasq coding. The more we have, the more time we have to spend to plan who does what and what we need and blahblahblah (you know what I mean )

I'm gonna look around for info on how to get listed higher on search engines. It shouldn't be too hard... just tedious. It really will just consist of good keywords, and such in the meta tags. Oh and for anyone looking to create a good YPN ad banner. There is a great tutorial on www.htmlgoodies.com

KaGez:
But that's exactly what we need: Planning. I think we should have a lot of sasq-developers since there are a lot og tasks to be done. Anyway, we can start off the planning with Peter, you, Moxx and me.
I think we should have an IRC-meeting soon to discuss this issue.

I'm right up there wiht kpyro. I have this awsome YPN.NET thing going. It has a better GUI. I'm going to get a beta version up on brinkster this week.

Give me a break already. It's not like I'm starting my own thing. Mostly what I'm doing is porting the code to ASP and giving a GUI overhaul. I am going to add a couple of extra features to the engine. So please PLEASE keep your comments until after you have viewed it. And from you Linux users please no comments about the ASP part. It's all I know. Even if I DID know PHP I don't have anything that I could test it off my harddrive.
