I have looked all over the internet and have not been able to find a single good ICQ for linux. What I want is to be able to reuse the windows ICQ contact list in linux and also to be able to rename the users on my contact list as I please. I have been able to find the renaming function in kxicq but no where have I been able to find the function of being able to use the windows ICQ contact list. I will take the renaming function from the kxicq and patch it to licq, but I REALLY NEED THE CONTACT LIST FUNCITON. If anyone can help, drop me a line here, it would be much appreciated. Thanks, johny-5

Everybuddy supports imports from ICQ, Gaim, GnomeICU and Licq natively.

I've had problems with lICQ and Everybuddy, the receivers didn't see what I was typing. GnomeICU works though..

yeah, but thing is, most windows users have ICQ, and an AIM client does have some advantages over irc, too...

The problem is most non-computer addicts use ICQ instead of IRC
