I installed Woody... Currently I'm accessing the channel with BitchX and the forum with Links as I haven't configured X .

If anyone can offer me an X config file for GeForce2 GTS, tell me.

Wow, this rocks so much =).

looks strange to me ... (that config file) I dunno why everybody wants to get rid of xf86config ... there is no tool easier to use than that :/

why strange? it works perfectly

IMHO xf86setup is better than config, it's like the same but you can navigate it with an curses frontend.

and i remember a tool called SaX in SuSE which was really great, too.

btw, forget the Modeline stuff from the config, it's commented out anyway.. i dun remember why i needed them, but it's old stuff.. my XF86Config file has a history dating back to suse 6.1 *g*

Okay, thanks for the file... I'm having trouble compiling the drivers (I compiled the wrong shit first). So I'll try just reinstalling everything and going after the readme file.

xf86setup is hopelessly outdated :/
svara: tried that config file too, but my X doesn't seem to like it ... that's why I said that it is strange.

anyways,
Peter: maybe you can just try xf86config. I think it's easy to use, and normaly everybody knows his/her display's prefs.

So I did.. and Now I rum X . I used the NVIDIA GeForce setting (I've got GF2 GTS though). I want to change the available resolutions though... This one hurts my eyes. And do I have to re-run xf86config to change the standard color depth?

(stupid, I could just edit the config file)

you can change the std color depth in the config file ... dunno where out from nothing now, but it's kinda simple
