heh.... you're using mdk8 and are unable to connect to the internet? either you have a lollipoping ethernet card that nobody knows (that is, if you're on CATV or DSL or such), or you just don't read enough. We can't help you in _any_ way if you say "I have a problem, now help me!".
Maybe, before posting your next question you should read through this:
http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#AEN345
Maybe somebody will be up to help you (that is, if you've tried enough, and searched for some infos on the net), if you give us something that will help us more, like kernel version, what type of internet connection you have, what you already tried, machine specs and so on.

its not easy because no one of you except svara uses T-online
Posted by fsvara on 15:17:00 01-25-2002
you could've said earlier that you're using tonline... and btw, i have 1&1 not t-online...
whatever, there are a lot of great docs opn how to do it at adsl4linux.de... well, i doubt you have the necessary skills to follow them, just use some Drak* thing, there msut be one..

so, according to svara there are _no_ problems with setting up internet in Linux with that ISP (at least not on Mdk). Either you are hell st****, or you are just posting before even trying to do something about it.

at least most newbie distro's like mdk have it really easy...
it would be different if you were using a distro with bawlz like slack or deb *G*

moondude:

I don't have a clue about what it says though . try google for it..

there are always small trolls (/me glares @ moondude), who don't even try to do anything and ask others ... in this case I _really_ love these 4 letters:
RTFM!
Google offers you millions of pages, and even Peter could pick out the proper document from it, even without knowing german. Either you (moondude) are doung something terribly wrong, or you are just ..... erm... you know what I mean

well, hehe, on the page Peter posted, at the top it says "this page is outdated, rather try this or this"
anyway: adsl4linux.de, teh best for dsl in linux, heh...

I think if we hand moondude the URLs everytime he wants something is getting seemless. For me it looks like he doesn't even try to find the things (just look at the "HotJava" thing in WebProgramming section). he won't learn to find information on his own like this :/
