I just turned 15 and you are all probably better programmers than I.

I am learning more c++, some asp and more about databases. I want to learn PHP, but I can not find a free test server to learn on.

I just got expelled from school so I got all the time in the world to learn this stuff too, I just need to apply myself.
Posted by Peter on 12:42:00 04-29-2001
expelled.. hm, I don't know wether to feel sorry for you or CONGRATULATE (!) you .

anyway, I might write a tut about php/mySQL... or I can help you in another way.

Kagez: you don't have to know the manifesto but if you've surfed around a little darker places, you prolly know it
I personally surfed on happyhacker.org, which is NOT a dark place but they have links to some haxor-sites and I took a look at that portwolf-thingy. Perfect example of a script-kiddie But anyway, he has the manifesto hosted. You can also get it at neworder.box.sk I think.

I thought this was the YOUNG Programmer's Network . I'm 12, I thought I wouldn't be left out here but I am. Those adults just saying I'm to young to start and now finding out that the average of YOUNG is 15-17. But there are SOME people that are as young as me, that's good.

Well, when I was 12, I wanted to be in a community like this, but we hadn't created it yet back then .

You know, it doesn't matter what age you are as long as you are young in the spirits. Well, yeah, we basically wanted this to be a nice place for teenagers, but other people of young age hanging around is just cool too. And yes, 22 is "still" young .

the part that actually scandisks your brain is _reading_ and modifying the code.

another interesting langauge is malbolge, however the onyl program ever written in it is an implementation of the legendary "hello world".. and that took like 3 months to make

Posted by MoX on 21:10:00 04-18-2002
sacah: It's one of the best, but was written 1948 (good ol' Orson just flipped the 48 to 84 in order to show that his visions are not that far away).

Wheew...I'm really not the only one interested in old science-fiction full of social critizism [addsig]
Posted by sacah on 21:35:00 04-18-2002
actually you cant tell when it was written, I meant first published, it was first published in 1949, and it would have been named close to publishing, so possible that it was concived for publication in 48.

I love the book, its very true forseen for when it was written. You ever visit China, its like word for word from the book, and you can see a lot of other countries that relate to it, but anyway, everyone should read it

hehe, I don't think that such a simple test can reflect a whole persons mind. IRC won't do all too, but much more than such a simple test

Well, we're from the same school and we have this impenetrable firewall that prevents us from getting easy access to IRC. I tried using a web-based IRC client outside the firewall but I couldn't get into the YPN chatroom Permanent olutions, anyone?
Posted by KaGez on 23:30:00 08-31-2002
now, please don't start this "create a IRC webinterface on the YPN page" again.
Can't you tunnel the the stuff somehow through another port? a open one?
[addsig]
Posted by sacah on 12:41:00 09-01-2002
Get mIRC(Im sure your schools leet enought to have Windows) and tunnel it through proxy.

Posted by KaGez on 20:23:00 09-15-2002
month of fire? what kind of month is that? :/
[addsig]
Posted by ItinitI on 23:01:00 09-15-2002
Oh, I *thought* in addittion to a zodic to each year, there also one to each month [e.g. element]. Though, I could be wrong...
Posted by MoX on 23:33:00 09-15-2002
Where does this originally come from? Is it japanese or chinese?

Anyway, I would nit argue with KaGez about it [addsig]
Posted by ItinitI on 03:01:00 09-16-2002
I'm not arguing with anyone. I believe I saw it in a book [Ugh,, yeah, pretty vague...], but *could* have mis-understood it.
Posted by KaGez on 19:12:00 09-16-2002
I know that there are these things for years and month, but afaik there is no "fire" for either :/
[addsig]
Posted by ItinitI on 01:52:00 09-17-2002
Okay

What are the zodics for the months?

I'm 13, but why does age really matter? Chances are we aren't going to meet personally (and if we do I doubt we'll recognize eachother), so I think that experience and such matters more.
Posted by dxprog on 14:36:00 08-06-2003
Well, it is the Young Programmers Network, so age is interesting. [addsig]
Posted by cowsarenotevil on 14:49:00 08-06-2003
Sure, age is interesting but why? What does age mean to you?

Don't know if I posted in this thread yet, but I am so old, that..... well, I'm not really that old.

12, and 13 in October.

It feels pretty cool when you're almost done with your first blogging system written in PHP before you're even technically a teenager. [addsig]
