This is a log from #python, when svara spammed it with bots from a shell account on one of my computers. A little moment after this, I got K-lined (banned from the whole OPN network). Since svara is one of the operators and founders of YPN, I though I could trust him. Obviously I was wrong.

I'd like to add that i apologized to #python and rob_ert already.

I was chatting in #c20 with duffman, to whom I had given the sourcecode of a bot Robert wrote some time ago called "barbar", an exercise for learning pthreads and sockets. Duffman told me he had put three bots in #linux, running in the background and had closed his Konsole, and that the bots were still running (and heavily annoying for the people in #linux). I told him to do "killall barbar". Well, then we talked about the bots, put a lot of them in #c20, until we got the (not so smart...) idea to put those bots into a channel with other people. Well, as I wanted to see what would happen without getting kicked and banned at once along with the bots, i ran the bots on robert's shell acccount and watched from my home comp. Well, dash (the op in #python) found out pretty fast (dunno how...) that they were running on the same host as rob_ert, and he asked robster (an opn oper) to K-line that host, which he did.

Robert then went to #openprojects asking to be un-k-lined. Robster removed the ban. Then I apologized in #python and to robert.

At this point i had pretty successfully made a fool out of myself on #openprojects and #python.

Now i notice rob_ert is ignoring me. I find that somewhat unfair, as no harm whatsoever was done to anybody. I would have never thought they'd K-Line a host for a few harmless bots (it wasn't like a channel overtake or DoS or anything).

I have repeatedly apologized, and ask rob_ert very kindly to forget that... "incident"...
