How does the hall of fame rating system work?
This is the thing that stood out...
5 Maltanar 9 9.10

yeah we know it's strange
i think it was like just "average points + 0.1 * number of submissions" or something..
yeah, that's it. it's logical, maltanar submmitted one doc and got an average of 9, + 0.1 that gives a rating of 9.1 which is pretty good

How are unrated things factored into that?

Not at all?

Well, it's not not at all, or else I'd be up there (I've made 2 submissions - 1 rated 9, 1 not rated)... unless that's only code that's rated....

Govtcheez: link ratings aren't calculated at all, because you usually don't create the websites being linked to.

but if the contents of the website are actually yours, you can submit them as tuts or code, so it's not a problem imo...

Peter: You've got no proof that I'm not Sunlight or that I didn't create Dev-C++!

though it would be nice to give a 0.1 bonus per submitted link, as a really good central online source of info on some topic can is something really great.

hm... but then I could submit all my 300 bookmars and I'd get 30 points for it .... :/

you could also submit 300 code snippets from sf's snippet lib... or whatever.
anyway, submitting 300links is pretty cool imho.. perhaps a +0.5 would be more appropriate, but i dunno... we'd have to test that.
