We have to come up with something new if we want to wake the community up. It's true, people are submitting stuff, and the channel has been crowded the last days I've been there, but it doesn't hurt to try new stuff I guess.

I've thought that we could create interest groups, like "we wanna learn AI" and then they could have a shared table in the database where they could add new links and stuff. This would be like a super-forum. They could also, if needed, make a new channel, have someone who already knows the shit help them etc.

We could make a mass e-mailing to all of our members to make them get their asses to the site .

yeah, i thought about that, too. Fabs said a while ago we should have irc lectures again. IMHO we should do that.

I thought about the mailing list stuff, too, and I think I'm going to try to create one using majordomo/mailman and stuff...

Perhaps we could have an email sent to all registered memebers (with the danger of getting flamed badly for spam ), saying something like
"This is the first post to the YPN mailing list - if you want to recieve it in the future, just reply to this message using your e-mail clients 'reply' feature, without adding anything. You will then be added to the list".. if they do so, they'd get a new confirmation mail with the list commands to use...
