Does anyone know of a free PHP website host with Access or MySQL support? I want to learn more about creating dynamic database-driven backends.
I literaly have no funds for this. My other bug hobby takes all my cash (skateboarding). I try to do things the free way.

mmmm... that's rather hard to find. But if you just want to test your stuff, you could install Linux and the Apache-webserver, MySQL and PHP and run it local. You could also get your PC-online with dyndns but with a 56modem, I wouldn't suggest it. Also, I know all this is possible but I've never done it before

I recommend freedom 2 surf as above. 20mbs NO adds and its up to speed, (most of the time)

try http://www.coolfreepages.com ... they offer you php3 with mysql, 50 mb webspace, a subdomain, etc. they use a popup-console-window, which will only show up if the user leaves the site (by closing the window)..
good luck,

Does this actually work well? I had some bad experience with Digitalrice, a no-ads free host with PHP/MySQL... It hardly ever worked and they are still "fixing it".

f2s is a good choice for those who plan to do a not so serious project, but for those who want to actualy get something done (not only with PHP/MySQL) I'd prefer SF (http://www.sf.net)
have a nice day

yeah but if you go and tell everybody to get their site hosted at sf we'll see a lot of new .sf.net subdomains that go like "magicmumbowarez" or "supermansworld"....

maybe also http://www.hypermart.net
it's non-free, but quite good

If you're looking just to experiment, lycos.co.uk is pretty good!
Posted by KaGez on 22:30:00 12-08-2002
with popups here and there
I prefer to set up my own home-server... I know what works and what not, and I can experiment as much with it as I want either
and, it's fast!

Aye, aye Captain. I was running a pirated version of 95 at one time. But I fugred that since Microsoft doesn't make any money off of it anyways, why not. Besides, I was desperate.
