sacah: black hair, white skin does bleached negroid skin count? good to be honest, anyway!

I need this to build a sample profile form for the dating site. I would need to be able to know the kind of questions a user would want to ask a potential friend... before wasting precious "emotional energy" trying to relate with someone with whom such relationships just wuld not work. I mean, if he/she is not your type, ite better to know it from the beginning, isn't it?

Black hair, white skin, its more gothic look, I think ppl know what they want, but I dont know if it would be the right one for them, but for matching algorithm, base it on what the person wants, and rank it.

You know, sacah, I need to have a way of knowing when you are online... since the project is becoming concrete in my mind and I have come full circle to MySQL+PHP with links to MSN messenger etc.

I see my perfect friend everyday... when I'm sitting in front of my computer. [addsig]

Well, yer, puter is a perfect friend, but my new phone is the perfect partner.

I've always seen the phone as a menace. Especially with all the telemarketers out there. [addsig]
Posted by sacah on 15:36:00 11-02-2002
telemarketers dont ring mobiles, too expensive, unless you though i meant normal phones, its mobile phones i love.

I thought you meant normal phones. Yeah, I can live with cell-phones. Actually they are quite coll, especially the ones with color LCDs. [addsig]

currently, i think the most important quality of my "perfect friend" would be the ability to keep shut and listen when i'm discussing something touchy and not give advice unless asked by my humbleness. the full profile is something I'm not so sure of but these days I favour niceness over "smartness" in a friend

seunosewa: hehe, that's not a "discussion" but a "monologue" . I understand your point though, for me, it's important that a friend can listen and understand.. they don't need to comment what I say, or give advice, but just being there means a lot.

I've found a pretty amusing sites related to this topic: http://www.womanht.com/ what do you think about it?
Posted by bpt on 16:22:00 11-18-2002
friend (in no particular order, and not all are required):

kind
intelligent
generally interested in everything
similar general interests
open-minded (see Faré's article On Open Mindedness for what I mean by this)

unrequired attributes:

anarchist or non-Marxist-Leninist communist
maybe plays same sports if in same physical area (fencing and rock-climbing)
atheist/humanist, or agnostic or Taoist

grilf:

female (friends, of course, can also be female, but I'm heterosexual)
cf. attributes of friends, of course those also apply here
at least somewhat physically attractive
hopefully able to understand, and maybe help with, my psychological problems (not really necessary but would be helpful)
maybe anarchist (or non-Marxist-Leninist communist or a certain type of socialist) - at least not a typical flagwaving "if you don't root for the home team get out of the stadium" "yay Bush, let's go kill even more Iraqi children" jingoist USian
probably atheist/humanist or agnostic or Taoist
I really haven't given much thought to the matter, since my chances of actually finding a grilf are near zero , so this list is rather incomplete

If you remove all the thing about anarchism/socialism from bpt's answer (I can tolerate other opinions ), then I'd say about the same. Nice article about OpenMindness(tm), but how else would you define it?

my game boy advance is o most my best friend,i like my gramas computer cause my computer dont have the internet but im gettin it on my moms computer
Posted by kenikov on 09:08:00 09-11-2003
When someone says their computer, or Gameboy is their best friend, it is no wonder you are lacking real (alive) friends, or girlfriends.

Or how about requests for someone "Anarchistic" or "Gothic"? Oh yeah, sounds like the ideal girl! Sounds like everyone's dream! Forget Anna K and Britney Spears!

Lets go for freaks!
