1337, or "leet" is a lame language based on numbers and symbols that's supposed to be liked by computerish people. Don't ask.

devusb was explaining all that to me the other day, but I couldn't figure out what "leet" could mean (I guess if you add an e on the front it would "elite" spelled really bad )

Yep, it stands for "Elite"...sometimes you will see it as "31337"... It often refers to a dialect of English that is highly internationalized using many non-English words [This is where we get the term "Uber", and think the word "Yu"-- not sure exactly what it is called, its like when you can answer neither yes nor no] and substitutes letters with symbols, signs, and numbers.

well, lame or not, I was also kinda happy back when I had 1337 posts kinda looks cool.
Ever tried the google language "Hacker"? That's exactly this language, also refered to as "leet speak"
