Read the CD-Burning-HOWTO.
It's just copying files to a medium (that's a very kindish type of view). I think you should know that from Windows.
You need to get a *scsi-emulation*. Alas, I don't know how it works exactly. As I said, read the manual:
/usr/doc/HOWTO or somehting

Surely a medium without a filesystem can not be mounted. Have you ever mounted a clean disk?

Have a nice time!

But the CD-Writing-HOWTO can surely be found in /usr/doc(/HOWTO) if you are using SuSE.

OK. I think it's cooler to have the docs locally.

SCSI emulation is a real pain to get working. Just a little FYI, RedHat 7.1 automatically configures SCSI emulation on install if it finds a burner present. Like I said, just a little FYI.

You should use some burning-software like cdrecord (for Linux). It will create an ISO9600-fs by default I think.. you can write Joliet extensions too.. but you should first check out your burningsoftware's manual.

Good luck!
