I have been doing web design for 5 years (since I was 9) and never in my life have I ever come accross such a deal. Basically there is an island nation that is advancing its technology and has started an internet project. They offer a paid domain service but there is also a FREE domain service. There are only 2 miniscule catches, and those are a tiny popup banner (which only advertises their service) and you have to get 25 hits in 90 days (really easy). If you don't believe me, no harm in trying right? here is the info:
URL: http://www.dot.tk
when is says "if anyone gave you a coupon number" enter : 39548
Trust me you'll love this!

Great... an ad about how to save $8 per year.

what did you accomplish by posting that? all you showed was that you are a sarcastic jerk. some people would prefer not to pay 8 bucks over paying 8 bucks. Make sense? Consider what you're saying before stupidly spouting it out.

Actually, the "8 dollars" part was only meant to add to the main point that you are violating conventional forum ettiquette by posting an advertisement designed to bring you personal profit. (There's also the fact that you don't talk about programming at all, so it is off-topic.)

well i think the service is great for people like me who are young, have the knowladge but dont have money.... i think that people should help each other, because isnt this what the site is about?

You don't think your parents would give you $8 as a birthday present so you can keep pop-up ads off your web sites?

I don't want to give away info like it asks for. I am not allowed. Besides, I am only nine.

Just put something like:
Address: Pineapple under the sea j\k. Don't

Or you could put Bikini Bottom (Spongebob).

Or Rock Bottom or Tentacle Acres, or Encino, CL. Then you can put Patchy down as your name as well

No it isn't. Unlike Hprog, YPN has boards for webdesign too.
And everything computers.
Cheez Smerdyakov, read the board descriptions

Hmm... I have a website there, and I think it's very decent. I registered under some made up name also, so don't worry.

isn't .tk something like "get XXXX hits a month or we will kill your domain"?

Perhaps, but if you look at your own website occasionally you'll be fine...

hehe, that's a solution too, but I'd feel kinda lonely if I'd have to do that to keep my domain

Well, they would realize that the same IP is visiting that site 5 million times in two minutes.

But they wouldn't care. They just do that to filter out "dead" (not updated or looked at) web pages.

in other words:
They just throw away CPU cycles we do need way more than they do
