I do not consider myself an Apple zealot, but I'll have to admit that they make very nice hardware. I'm completely loving my Mac Book Pro. It's doubley more awesome that my Mac mini in almost every respect. Clock speed, RAM, hard drive space, video, you name it this thing is better. And it's portable. And it gets blazing hot when it's doing heavy processing, hotter than the surface of the sun I'd say.
Yesterday I picked up my books and softwares, those being Final Cut Studio 2 and Adobe Creative Suite 3 (adds up to a grand total of $3000+). I loaded up CS3 immediately and had fun doing stupid Photoshop jobs all day.

I tried screwing around with FCS2 last night but didn't really get anywhere. Final Cut Pro itself seems fairly straight forward so far but I couldn't figure out Color (color grading app) which is a bummer because one thing that my videos need are to be color graded.
School doesn't start until Tuesday and I'm beginning to get a little bored. E and I have been playing Halo 2 and we watched all the Back to te Future movies, but I'm ready for school. I do have my copy of Eternal Sonata now so maybe that'll ease the pai of waiting even if just by a little bit. I could always draw, I suppose. But I don't know if I'll be able to top this:
Dear Livejournal,
Today I stepped on a nail. It felt good so I stepped on it again. God, my life sucks.
Remember that sketch a day routine I suggested last week. Well it's back, only not quite so themed. The reason I stopped in the first place is because thqat Midna picture really bummed me out. It sucked. Hard core.
Well, I've actually got two days worth of drawing goodness, so I'll give you the first one:

From left to right:
My Guitar Hero guitar. Take special note of the Limozeen and Teen Girl Squad stickers. Okay, they're kind of hard to see.
Yuna, a la Final Fantasy X
Some teacup from my sisters' tea set.

Mario as seen in Mario Sunshine (an awesome game). I'm really pleased with how that came out. Also, there's Toad. I wasn't really trying to get a good shape or anything, I just wanted something to test my new pens out on. Up at the top is a little tuft of hair. Just wanted to practice some hair shading.
Kepp those RSS readers tuned to here for more arty updates. And other.... stuff.
For the second time in a three days I've had to call in and miss work. This time, however, is because our wonderful little town has been flooded. Since the river runs between me and my place of employment I am trapped in my house. And what a better way to waste time than by drawing.

Mostly some experimental stuff especially with posing, hair and head shape. Of course, the thing that gets me frustrated most is body proportions and limbs. However, I'm pretty happy with how these turned out.
No laptop and as such I am forced to put up more random selections of my artwork.

This is actually some concept art for an upcoming comic. I'm trying to work more emotion into the characters body language.

Originally started out as just some kid, but give him the right hair and you have First-grader Gabe!

A bust of Captain Haddock from the Adventures of Tintin comics.

Captain Jack is back!

A quick sketch of my hand. An exercise prescribed by JKR.
Well, there you are. One semi-interesting thing to note is that Captain Haddock is the only drawing here done with a no. 2 pencil. Everything else was done using my wonderful 0.7 Pentel mechanical pencil. Oh, it is a thing of beauty :-)
