Game Music Friday - Some Mario Paint

May 29, 2008

Game Music Friday
Back in August of 1992, Nintendo released unto the world the little gem known as Mario Paint. Bundled with it's own mouse Mario Paint was the equivalent of Adobe Creative Suite for the Super Nintendo. You could draw pictures, do animations, and it even came with a nifty little mouse based game called Gnat Attack. However, Mario Paint's legacy lies not in it's visual abilities (though it inspired a certain internet cartoon). No, Mario Paint is all about its music creating abilities and the amount of high quality Mario Paint remixes on YouTube is absolutely astounding. Narrowing it down to three videos was a challenge not only because of the sheer volume of videos out there, but there are two guys who have the lions share and I wanted to give everybody a chance. Oh, and Mario Paint Composer doesn't count. But, enough rambling, enjoy!

Assorted Small Animals

September 4, 2007

Today marks the beginning of the new bowling season. Even though I'll only be able to bowl twice I'm still excited. I've been bowling twice in the last couple of weeks and did really well, all games over average and two over two hundred. I could even have some beers if I wanted. T'will be an awesome time to be sure.

Today also marks the two week mark until I leave for Florida. I'm not sure if I've said it before but I currently bored out of my skull. I got most of my packing done last week so that's done. I really don't have much to pack, really. What packing is left to do is of the stuff I use regularly... wait. I have said this before :-/. Granted, I haven't packed the kitchen stuffs yet so there is something left to do. I also need to get my haircut at some point.

That isn't to say I've been completely idle. I did do that little YPN thingy. I've been playing some games that I never finished *ahem* Thousand Year Door *ahem*. I was going to make another short movie, but lack of wardrobe kind of puts a damper on that. You'd think it'd be a simple matter finding a white wig, but no. Not in Bartlesville.

Whilst I was out on one of these wig finding missions I ran across something at a local craft store. It was a cheap glue gun (packaged and distributed in my good state of Oklahoma). It looks fairly standard to the casual observer but reading the fine print reveals, well see for yourself:

It's Tuesday night, time for headlines!

Needless to say I'm sending it in to Jay and hopefully it'll make headlines some night. If it does I'll be sure to have a YouTube clip up here the next day.

Comic and Drawings

August 25, 2007

Comic

The start of a new arc. Pretty pleased with most of the artwork here, except Bowser in that last panel. Missed yesterday's update, but oh well. It'll be coming Monday. Technically all I need to do is arrange it as I've got the artwork all drawn up. Now on to some artworks.

Strikers Peach

This was going to be the first panel Monday's comic, but when it came down laying everything out it just didn't fit. Probably the most risque thing I've ever drawn, but don't blame me. Blame Nintendo. They love their Peach pr0n, I 'spose.

Guitar Hero Chibis

I wanted to try drawing some chibis and something Guitar Hero. This is what came out. I like the bassist and the singer best.

Safari how you piss me off!

August 19, 2007

I've been booting over to OS X lately seeing as I'll have to get used to it when I go to school. Safari, however, is pissing me off. The colors on here don't render properly. It's the same problem that plagued IE4-5. So the gradient at the top doesn't properly blend into the background. Instead it's a disgusting blocky chunk. At that the gradient isn't smooth like it's doing some sort of weird compression thing a la AOL. Apple, if you're software "just works" why does it have problems that were fixed over ten years ago? Bastards.

Anyways... I now have less than one month in my current place of residence. On September 18th I set sail (heh) for Florida and my future. It's about the only thing I think about and it's making time go incredibly slow. To say I'm looking forward to the move would be like saying Jesus is a good man. But, I do not wish to dwell on the topic and more.

Yesterday I rented Mario Strikers Charged (Wii). It's okay. Online play is always a plus, but they really dropped the ball on the music. Every piece of music is a two to five second loop. It really, really, really blows chunks. But the game itself is pretty fun and it controls well. So if you just mute the TV and turn on some tunes its not so bad. Too bad the Wii doesn't support this instrisnicly like a certain other console...
