A little something something I made for achieving 5000 page views on my illustrious deviantArt profile.

Overall, I think this is probably one of my better ventures, though my brother says my art style is "lumpy". I cannot disagree. And hands? They're such a pain in the ass to draw. Like I was saying on the way into bowling last night, drawing would be so much easier if we had no hands and arms/legs were simple rectangles. Yes, it would make awesome things like eating and playing Tetris Attach much more difficult, but people would be easier to draw.

Wait... with no hands I couldn't draw...

Damn.

This was a request from some dude on deviantArt. I'll admit, I don't get the premise of characters turning into dolls (which there is a whole group dedicated to), but this piece proved an interesting challenge.

I used reference for the first stage (on the left) and made up the doll based upon that. Then, I had to essentially tween the middle image (in animator speak).

Created using my usual method of pencil, Illustrator and Photoshop.

I have managed to deprive people of my VisualBasic code for two weeks now and it looks like I'm not reversing that trend any time soon. Instead, today I'm going to present to you some things I've doodled at various points while at work. Sadly, some of my more epic doodles are in a different notepad and will not be presented here today, and seeing as I'm on vacation for the next week I can't just wait until Monday to write this. But, enough said. The artwork is after the break.

Anime News Network, one of my daily internet stops, is hosting a art contest in which the prize is a free trip to Japan. Seeing as I am planning on paying for such a trip within the next couple of years, I figured it'd be worth a shot to try and get one for free. Granted, my art skills are probably nowhere near the level of the more devoted and talented frequenters of ANN, but hey. Never hurts to try. So, here's my entry for your viewing pleasure/horror.
