Lucky for me, parody is perfectly legal as defined by fair use copyright laws ;-). But, anyways, some interesting things to come down the line. Oh, and 50 points to the person who can name all the characters on that second panel :-)
The last real missing piece of the redesign is now in place. Just take a look to your right and you'll see what I mean. To save having a really short post I suppose I can give a general update on what's going on.
Let's see... I'm still a cashier/cart pusher. I'm enjoying Halo's online play immensely. I'm almost to the floating continent on FFVI. I enjoy going to college with Elvis on the weekends, and I'm thinking of moving out. Yes, you read that correctly, I'm going to college with Elvis ;-).
Seriously, though, I am making plans for moving out of the house and into an apartment. A couple of hurdles I need to get over are lack of GED and car, but otherwise I think I'm in a finacially tenable position to pull it off. Jeff also wants to move out and board with me, which would be cool. I'm already dreaming of the awesome Smash Bros. game-a-thon parties I could host.... oh, yeah.
It seems my comic has finally gained a little bit of recognition. That's right, I was featured on this week's webcomic pick of the week poll on Joystiq. Not only that, however, but people actually commented on it (see comments 11-13, 12 is my favorite). Now, I can't brag too much because Chris has been on theretwice. Still, it's a pretty awesome feeling to be noticed on one of the internet's biggest game news sites. Anyhoo, since I'll be having guests I've gone through all the trouble of pulling together the RSS feed for the comic (use the icon above, or IE7's handy little dropdown box).
Alright, first off the name's changed from F5 to Digital Double. Why? Well, I believe that more accurately reflects the intent of the strip as it's supposed to loosely be based off my life (my digital double). So that's that.
As for the comic itself, that stemmed from a crack induced conversation I had with devusb last week. This happens quite often. It's kind of scary...
To celebrate my laptop being back I decided to finish up the new design and launch it. So, here it is! Everything is as it should be; my laptop is back, my blog is running on my own design again, uhhh.... other stuff... yeah. So, anyways, enjoy :-)
50 points for the person (who is not related to me) that can say where "vwaooo" comes from.
Anyways, I have good news! And, no, I didn't save a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. No, it seems that my laptop has FINALLY been repaired (going on over a month now, I believe). From the repair center: "repaired- replaced fl inverter, fixed latch, and cleaned heatsink, very". It seems I got everything I asked for and thensome, though the heatsink was very what? Very big? Very sexy? Very... whatever?! I dunno.
Over the weekend I finally managed to snag that which I have been seeking my entire life. The very purpose of man's existance. The driving force of all creatures... a Super Nintendo Entertainment System!! (in box, even). Of course, no SNES is complete without the greatest game ever made... FINAL FANTASY VI!!! Ah, the sweet, sweet days of care free gaming, when all was right in the world.... it's a pity those days are gone.
Ah, well. I shall be off with sweet dreams of snes's and laptops in my head :-)
Wow, that's quite a year. I'd like to think that I'm far more mature now than I was this time last year, at least I'm a tad wiser. Well, it's 4:30am and I really should be in bed. See ya
It's been over three weeks since I've posted a comic so I decided to drag the wacom downstairs and make it on the parents' computer. Speaking of which, there was no pencil work for this one. It was all sketched out digtally. That tablet rocks!
A while back I worked up a new design for the site and I've been working on getting it finished the last few days. Comment posting still doesn't work and the "My Digg" bar is broken, but I think this is probably one of the best designs I've had in a while. But don't take my word for it, see for yourselves. The comic page is also done in this style, though it's not quite working yet.
No laptop and as such I am forced to put up more random selections of my artwork.
This is actually some concept art for an upcoming comic. I'm trying to work more emotion into the characters' body language.
Originally started out as just some kid, but give him the right hair and you have First-grader Gabe!
A bust of Captain Haddock from the Adventures of Tintin comics.
Captain Jack is back!
A quick sketch of my hand. An exercise prescribed by JKR.
Well, there you are. One semi-interesting thing to note is that Captain Haddock is the only drawing here done with a no. 2 pencil. Everything else was done using my wonderful 0.7 Pentel mechanical pencil. Oh, it is a thing of beauty :-)
